Gary Franklin Lambert

Gary Franklin Lambert suddenly left this earthly home on October 4, 2026 after a brief illness. He was a wonderful caring husband of 25 years, a father and friend. Born in Spring Creek, Va he lived many years in the Staunton and Harrisonburg area. Gary was a proud Vietnam Veteran. Gary moved to Roanoke for a job in management at Lowes. He had a varied career of many jobs but retired from the Veterans Administration in loans and finance.

He loved camping with Big Lick Campers and was President of the Cardinal Virginians. He enjoyed all sports especially Nascar and the Baltimore Ravens. He was an avid golfer and bowler but in later life he really was a fan of ordering anything from Amazon!!

He was very active in his church, Northview United Methodist church. He was a leader in Mission and Outreach projects, and a devoted member of the security team.

He is survived by his wife, Jane, and his children Jon Engleman (Rachel) and Steven and step children Alicia Baxter and Holly Turner; grandchildren, Josh Roberson (Kayla), Jonathan Engleman (Kasey); great grandchildren, Pierce Roberson, Presley and Rylee Engleman.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Outreach or Care Portal at Northview United Methodist Church.

A celebration of Gary's life will be held Noon Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Northview United Methodist Church 521 Ridgecrest Drive Roanoke, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
