Linda Sue Weddle Barbour

Linda Sue Weddle Barbour, 76, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026. She was born December 14, 1949, in Bassett, Virginia, to the late Clinton J. Weddle and Claudia Mae Stone Weddle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rachel Mae Weddle, and her brother, Jimmy Lee Weddle.

Linda was of the Christian faith and a graduate of John D. Bassett High School. She completed her nursing education at the Martinsville–Henry County School of Practical Nursing in 1969. As a licensed practical nurse, she devoted more than 40 years to caring for others. Her career began at Martinsville General Hospital and included Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. She spent the longest portion of her nursing career at Blue Ridge Nursing Center, now Mulberry Creek.

Linda loved her family and cherished her friendships. She had a special fondness for cats, enjoyed cheering for the New York Giants, and loved listening to Q99.1.

She is survived by her daughter, Katrina Barbour; her grandchildren, Madison Coles and Stephen Daniel Secrest; her sister, Betty W. Gray; and her dear friend, Mary Willis.

A service will be announced by the family at a later date.
