Kevin Thomas Motley

August 4, 1985 - October 14, 2026

Born the oldest son of Douglas Thomas Motley and Linda Myrick Motley, Kevin was the picture of wisdom and understanding from his first breath till his last. His life was highlighted, not only by his incredible love for his family, but by the way he shared that love with anyone who contacted him. Kevin was a man of Christian faith, who showed the world Jesus through that love and through his seemingly unwavering patience.

When he wasn’t working as the owner and sole operator of his small business, Kevin could usually be found with a wrench in his hand, under the hood of his latest project. Kevin had a vision for his projects that made him seemingly restless until they were done just right, yet somehow, they were never quite finished. Motorsports were a passion he shared with his dad and brothers (Jon and David), while his sister (Donna) often became an unwilling, yet supportive participant. When not trying to build, drive or ride the closest thing he could find with a motor, Kevin enjoyed his days at the lake with his beloved friends where music, good vibes and relaxation could always be found.

Of all the titles Kevin held, perhaps none meant more to him than “Uncle Kev”. He loved his nieces and nephews more than anything and the memories they shared will always be treasured

Kevin is survived by and awaits his eternal reunion with his parents, Doug and Linda, his siblings, Jonathan (Laura), David (Chelsea) and Donna (Jarrod) as well as 9 nieces and nephews and countless friends whose lives were touched by his life. Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, the love he gave and memories he created will forever remain in the spirits of all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at The Tabernacle (1978 South Boston Road, Danville Virginia) beginning at 2:30pm. Kevin will be laid to rest at Highland Burial Park immediately following the service. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00pm-2:15pm, at other times the family will receive friends at the residence.
