Kevin Joseph Schandel

Kevin Jospeh Schandel, age 49, of Fieldale, Virginia, passed away on October 19, 2026, at his home. He was born on October 6, 1977, in Shirley, New York, to the late William Robert Schandel and Cynthia Rita Drehmer.

Kevin is survived by his loving mother, Cynthia and her partner, Melvin; brother, William “Billy” Schandel, Jr.; daughter, Kaitlyn Schandel of Austin, Texas; son Aiden Hinklein of Vero Beach, Florida; his beloved dog and best friend, Rocket; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins.

The family would like to especially thank UVA Hospital and the Couric Cancer Center, his lifelong best friend, John Backman from Long Island, N.Y., and his companion, Rebecca Barnwell of Fieldale, Virginia.
