Ronnie Dale Thaxton

Ronnie Dale "R.T." Thaxton, 59 of Moneta, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at his residence. He was born on Friday, September 29, 1967 in Charleston, WV, a son of the late Clarence Thaxton and Brenda Reynolds Ewers.

He was a roofer for 30+ years and was a member of Eastlake Community Church.

He is survived by his sons, Sam Thaxton (Kala), Todd Thornton; his grandchildren, August, Everett, Talya; a brother, Duane Thaxton (Debora); his twin sister, Rhonda Thaxton Fisher (Edwin) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 4110, Glen Allen, VA 23058.

There will be a memorial service at Updike Funeral Home Chapel, Bedford on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at 2:00 pm, with Chaplin Mike Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
