Janice G. Sheppard

Janice Greer Sheppard, 79, widow of Ricky D. Sheppard, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026 at her home with her family at her side. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Sophie Kempest Greer; and was also preceded in death by seven siblings, and a grandson-in-law, Conrad Hickok.

Janice spent her career as a CNA and retired from the V.A. Hospital after 32 years of service caring for Veterans. She was extremely intelligent and an avid reader, who also enjoyed crossword puzzles.

She will be missed and remembered by her daughters, Karen Gemaly, and Melinda Blankenship (fiancé James Steele); granddaughters, Lindsey Gemaly and Whitney Hickok; great-granddaughter, Lennon Hickok; sister-in-law, Jeri Greer; and her fur babies, Willie and Banzai.
