Patricia Coates Reidy

Patricia C. Reidy, 79, widow of Patrick T. “Pat” Reidy, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Edith Forschner Coates.

Patricia was a dedicated member of the Knitting Guild and she was also involved in various knitting groups at local libraries. She enjoyed knitting clothes, blankets and various other things for her family, friends and charity. Knitting was more than a hobby for Patricia. It was her passion. She leaves behind a stockpile of completed items, as well as quite a few U.F.P.’s (unfinished projects). Patricia also enjoyed reading books, and being with her book club was an important part of her life.

She will be missed and remembered by her daughter, Karen Schulz and her husband Volker; sons, Thomas Reidy and Andrew Reidy; grandchildren, Tyler and Kyle Schulz and Catherine and Corry Reidy; as well as three siblings.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church, 3505 Electric Road. The family will speak to guests immediately following the service.

Interment will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Saint Andrew’s Diocesan Cemetery, 3601 Salem Turnpike NW, Roanoke, VA.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
