Joann Tackett Munsey
In Loving Memory of Joann Tackett Munsey (Worley)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Joann Tackett Munsey (Worley), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of deep faith. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved her, her life leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, love, compassion, and devotion to family.
Joann’s faith in the Lord was at the heart of her life. She was deeply involved in Blue Ridge Baptist Church, where she shared her love for God and her commitment to serving others. Her ministry also extended to Berkshire Nursing Home, where she devoted her time and heart to caring for others and sharing the love of Christ. Her faith was not simply something she believed in; it was something she lived through her kindness, her service, and the love she extended to those around her.
Of all the blessings in Joann’s life, her family was her greatest treasure. Her two sons, Scott (Scotty), wife Candace Munsey and Steven (Stevie) partner Angie Luthy were deeply loved and held a special place in her heart. She was immensely proud of them, and her love for them was unwavering. Her grandchildren, Broderick Munsey, Gabrielle Lewis, Brian Hunter Munsey, Levi Munsey, Dylan Price, and Madalyn Price, brought her tremendous joy and were a constant source of pride and happiness. Her family was her world, and there was no question how deeply she loved each and every one of them.
Joann had also recently begun a beautiful new chapter in her life with her beloved husband, Bob Worley. She loved Bob dearly, and they were enjoying the happiness, companionship, and excitement of building a life together. Their time together was far too short, and her unexpected passing makes this loss all the more heartbreaking. The love they shared and the memories they made will remain treasured forever.
Although Joann’s passing came far too soon, the impact of her life will continue to be felt for years to come. Through her faith, her ministry, and the love she poured into her family, she made a difference in the lives of so many. She leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured in years, but in the lives she touched, the hearts she loved, and the faith she lived each day.
As her family and friends navigate the heartbreak of losing someone so dear, may they find comfort in the love she gave so freely, the memories they will forever hold close, and the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ, the Savior she loved and served.
Joann will be deeply missed, but her love will never leave the hearts of those who knew her. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a gift that will last forever.
Until we meet again, may she rest in the loving arms of her Savior.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm, Friday October 30, 2026 at Blue Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Tommy Hurt officiating. A celebration of JoAnn’s life will follow at 2 pm at the church with interment at Mountain View Cemetery.
