Sammy M Lawless

Sammy M Lawless, 85, of Stuart, VA passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 10, 1941 to the late Otis Lawless and Gertie Shelton Lawless. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother; Otis Lawless, Jr, three sisters; Mary Cassady, Ruth Cassady and Betty Handy.

Mr Lawless was a faithful member of Mayo Christian Church in Spencer, Va. Sammy was a private man but he loved the Wood Brothers and would talk about car 21 forever. He loved all of his grandchildren and his family

Surviving is his wife; Willie B. Lawless of 58 years ;two children; Stephanie Lemons (Derrick), Bradley Lawless (Amber), seven granddaughters; Devyn Lemons, Hayden Lawless, Isabella Lemons, Taylor Lawless, Arianna Lemons, Malynn Lawless, Charlee Lawless and one grandson; Drake Lemons, three cherished children that called him Poppie; Mary Carson, Jack and Beau.

A Funeral will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Nettle Ridge Church with Curt Ashley officating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Nettle Ridge Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
