Shirley Bell Cash Gillespie

Shirley Bell Cash Gillespie, 84, was born on December 18, 1941, in Virginia, and passed away on October 30, 2026.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Frank N. Gillespie, and her sisters, Clara Henderson and Jean Minton.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cheryl Gillespie Hollie, her sister, Eddie Cash Benedict (Dennis), her grandchildren, Dalton Creasy and Cole Creasy, her great-granddaughter, Marceline “Marcie” Creasy, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Shirley loved her church, North Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she was an active member. Her faith was an important part of her life. She loved the Lord and strived each day to follow the Word of God.

Being a mother was one of Shirley’s greatest joys, and the love she had for her daughter was profound. She also cherished being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-granddaughter brought immense joy and love into her life.

Shirley had a wonderful sense of humor and often brought laughter to those around her without even meaning to. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman throughout her life, always willing to put others before herself.

Staying connected with those she loved was especially important to Shirley. She cared deeply for both her family and her church family and always wanted to know how everyone was doing. Her caring nature and concern for others were a reflection of the love she carried throughout her life.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Lotz Funeral Home Roanoke, 1001 Franklin Rd SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.

A service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel, with committal following at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
