Betty Davis Thomas

Betty Vann Davis Thomas, 80, passed away peacefully at her home on November 1, 2026. She was born on February 6, 1946, in Danville, Virginia, to the late Lacy Vann Davis and Levina Benson Davis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Thomas, Jr.; son, Gregory Vann Thomas; and sisters, Sarah Clifton and Norma Dodd.

Betty was a member of Whitmell Church of Faith and a former member of Danville Shagging Club. She graduated from Brosville High School and worked for John Daniel, Inc. for over 20 years as a switchboard operator.

She is survived by her son, Glenn Thomas (Kristy); sister, Patricia Jones; grandchildren, Jonathan Ray Thomas (Jennifer), Glenn Edward Thomas, Jr. (Amber), and Brittany Marie Thomas (Gage); and great-grandchildren, Rowan Randall and Riley Randall.

A funeral service will be held at Norris Funeral Services – Mt. Hermon, on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The family will accept guests for one hour prior to the service. A burial will follow immediately at Highland Burial Park in Danville, Virginia.
