Susan Shaw

Susan Wagner Shaw of Narrows, Virginia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. She was born in Narrows on December 7, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Charles Henry Wagner and Ora Walton (Jane) Wagner. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Henry (Pete) Shaw, Jr.

Susan taught art education in the Giles County Public schools for many years. She was an avid collector of dolls and antique glassware, as well as an enthusiastic reader. She also loved knitting and crocheting. Susan and Pete shared a love of travel, creating a lifetime of cherished memories and adventures together. Susan was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in narrows, and loved her community there.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law, Sandra S. Kinkus of Dover, Delaware; a niece, Pamela Lynn Kinkus of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; a nephew, Todd, Thomas Kinkus, and wife Jennifer of Oxford Pennsylvania, and their children, Sophi and Tanner; along with numerous relatives.

At her request, she was cremated. A memorial visitation and service will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 2pm at the First United Methodist Church in Narrows with the Rev. Taylor Hines officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 - 2pm before the service.
