Melissa Lynn (Walker) Cain

Mrs. Melissa Lynn Walker Cain, age 56 of Ararat, Virginia entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Cain was born on July 6, 1970, in Hillsborough County, Florida to late James Edward Walker and Lynder Kenton Dietiker. Melissa was a loving wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her husband, Danny Ray Cain, two daughters and son-in-law, Chasity Abrams Prosperi and Tyler, Crystal Christie; son and daughter-in-law, Zachary Abrams and Savannah; stepdaughter, Alexus Cain and Aaron Lawons, stepson, Nicholas Cain and Kristen; four grandchildren, Zachary Abrams, Zoey Christie, Nataile Christie, Montana Cain; two sisters and brother-in-law, Cindy Cayton, Christy Roberson and Tim; and nieces, Valerie Jackson and Chris Cain, Jaden Jackson, and Steven Cayton. Mrs. Cain was preceded in death by her parents. No formal services will be held at this time. The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care Staff, especially Toni, Amy, and Jonathan for the compassionate care provided to Mrs. Cain during her illness.
