Vickie Lynn Garcia

Vickie Lynn Garcia, 63, gained her angel wings and went on to be with the Lord on January 3rd, 2021, early Sunday morning. Vickie is survived by her two daughters, Melissa Pena and Kelly Balderas and by her sisters Tammy Doss, Kimberly Branscome, and Pamela Morton. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Lawrence; sister, Teresa Lawrence; and Grandmother “Maw Maw”. Born March 14,1956, to her surviving mother, Nancy Gregory and her deceased father, Bill Lawrence. Vickie was an active member of The Friendly Worship Center in Ridgeway and worked at GCA Staffing in Martinsville as an office manager for 10 years. Those who knew her would describe her as a warm soul who had a heart of gold and who never met a stranger. Vickie was always just a phone call away to listen to you and uplift your spirits through laughter and prayer. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife, sister-in-law, and friend. Vickie had 13 grandchildren: Dustin McBride, Juan Alvarez, Cecilia Alvarez, Fransisca Hernandez, Gloria Alvarez, Jennifer Cano, Maria Balderas, Abrian Pena, Reina Balderas, Adan Pena, Adrian Pena, Martin Balderas, and Petra Balderas and 15 great grandchildren: Maleah, DJ, and Jasper McBride; Ayden and Noah Alvarez; Carmen, Lilliana and Isabella Hernandez; Ximena, Araceli, Sergio and Cesar Alvarez; Mateo Balderas; Adan Jr and Ariel Pena. She was always surrounded with love. She will be remembered in so many different ways to all those she truly touched, family and friends alike. Nana will forever live in our hearts and we will cherish her memory always. Rest in peace and high on the mountain. The funeral will be Friday, January 8, 2021, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Park.
