Doris Caldwell Martin, 87, of Appomattox, died Sunday, April 4, 2021, at Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation. She was the wife of the late Harold Lewis Martin, Sr.
Born in Appomattox County, Va., on August 1, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Sara Howerton and Hubert Hunter Caldwell, Sr. She was a member of Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church and retired from General Electric.
Doris is survived by two sons, H. Lewis Martin Jr. and wife, Penni of Rustburg and J. Hunter Martin and wife, Marianne of Midlothian; three grandchildren, Evan Martin, Brooke Martin, and Adam Jackson; a sister, Edith C. Harris; and two brothers, Edward L. Caldwell and Fred M. Caldwell.
In addition to her parents and husband she is predeceased by two brothers, H. H. “Red” Caldwell, Jr. and Marvin A. Caldwell, Sr.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the J.W.C. Martin Family Cemetery officiated by Rev. John Flood and Rev. David Drinkard.
