James Ronald "Jump Judy" Ferguson

James Ronald “Jump Judy” Ferguson, 72, of Henry, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at his home..  He was born in Ferrum, VA on September 9, 1948, the son of the late James “Jim” Ferguson and the late Ethel Patterson Ferguson.  He was also preceded in death by his only daughter, Tamara Young; son-in-law, Douglas Young; brothers, Ricky Ferguson and David Ferguson.
James Ronald (affectionately nick named “Jump Judy“) leaves to treasure his memory his devoted and loving wife of 52 years, Annie B. Oakes-Ferguson of the home;  his 2 son’s, Steve A. Ferguson of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Randall J. Ferguson (Beverly) of Collinsville, VA; a loving God daughter, De’Andra Ross; 1 brother, Michael K. Ferguson of Ferrum,VA; 6 sisters, Virginia C. Ferguson of Virginia Beach, VA,  Barbara Saunders and Debra Holland of Martinsville, VA,  Donna Menefee (Charles) of Ferrum, VA, Emily Gore (Richard) of Rocky Mount, VA,  Wanda Hicks (Carey) of Waynesboro, VA; 2 aunts, Mrs. Nora Wade and Dorthy Patterson; 2 special cousins, Clint and Arno Manns; 6 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel.  A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Ferguson Family Cemetery in Ferrum with John Ell Manns officiating.
Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is required and social distancing is to be observed.
