Richard Clay Miller

Richard Clay Miller, 67, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021. He was a son of the late Vernon Clay Miller. Richard was the owner of Miller Roofing Inc. for 40 years. He was known for his outgoing personality, sarcasm and the love he had for his family. He enjoyed drag racing for many years, loved going to car shows and showing off his Mopars.
He is survived by his mother, Nellie Damewood; loving wife of 39 years, Janet Miller; children, Paul Miller, Kim Keaton (Brian), Christy Leary, Tabitha Kelly (Brian) and Anita Clarke (Greg); sister and brothers, Joyce Jenkins (Jimmy), Robert Miller, Vernon Miller (Kay) and Tommy Miller; mother-in-law, Jean Hudson; 12 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 14, 2021 from 5 to 8 pm at Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road, Roanoke. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held 1 pm, Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Parkway Church on the Mountain, 3645 Orange Ave NE, Roanoke, VA 24012 with Pastor John Ott and Pastor Mike Lauridson officiating. Burial will be private.
