John Raymond “Ray” Shore

John Raymond “Ray” Shore, 83, of Patrick Springs, Virginia passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born May 27, 1938, in Henry County to the late Raymond and Lucy Shore. He was a member of Faith Fellowship of Bassett and enjoyed old cars and trucks. He also enjoyed traveling.

Mr. Shore had been employed by Henry County Public Schools.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Gilley Shore; son, Barry Kevin Shore; several sisters and brothers.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Ryan Jacob Shore, Casey Lynn Rotenberry; and great grandchild, Adalynn Kay Rotenberry; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Faith Fellowship Church of Bassett, with Pastor Freddie Bonds officiating. Burial will follow at County Line Church of God of Prophecy Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Fellowship of Bassett, 75 Elf Trail, Bassett, Virginia 24055.
