Delores Thompson

Delores Thompson departed this life on May 29, 2021, at Cleveland Ohio University Hospital. She was born September 8, 1946, to the late Alzonia Thompson and the late Lucy Bennett Thompson. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ella Mae Thompson.

After attending the public schools of Pittsylvania County, Delores moved to Cleveland Ohio working in retail sales. She later moved to Brooklyn, New York. She always wanted to see Los Angeles, California and later moved there for a long period of time. In Los Angeles, she was a fashion model and also attended UCLA for interior design. She was very outgoing and outspoken. She loved to have fun. When home she visited on occasion Mt. Olivet Apostolic Church in Martinsville, Virginia and Shockoe Baptist Church, Java, Virginia.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Niko Wood of Atlanta Georgia; four sisters, Betty Thompson, of Los Angeles, California, Phyllis Ann Holmes, Clarece Moore and Bernice Belcher, all of Martinsville, Virginia; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held, Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 12:30 P. M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, with Bishop Kenny Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens.
