Lee Edward Hairston
Lee Edward Hairston, 75, of Martinsville, Virginia, transitioned from his earthly home into eternal life on Monday, July 5, 2021. He was born in Henry County, Virginia on August 7, 1945, to Anniebell Hairston Mitchell and the late Irvin Martin.
He was a member of Mt. Olivet Apostolic Church under the leadership of the late Bishop Robert Lee Kellam. Lee was the owner of Lee’s Landscaping for many years. He enjoyed beautifying the yards of his many clients. He had a beautiful heart and would do whatever he could to help others. He continued to work even though he was dealing with health issues. He fought a good fight and continued to trust in God until the end.
He was preceded in death by two sons; Lee, Jr. and Tracy Deon Hairston; his father; brother, Willie G. Hairston; and sister, Candace Mitchell Hairston.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Lois Diane Martin Hairston; son, Terence L. Hairston (Kim) of Huntington Beach, California; his mother, Anniebell Mitchell of Greensboro, North Carolina;; two granddaughters, Quierra Jamison (Dominique) of Ridgeway, Virginia and Trakita Preston (Byron) of Collinsville, Virginia; four great-grandchildren, Nykori, Brooklyn, and Kyndall Jamison, and Alivia Jaide Preston; one sister, Debra Mitchell; one brother, Bishop Al Mitchell, both of Greensboro, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank a special niece, Treanna and great-nephew, Felipe’, for the wonderful care of their uncle. He had a special love for Treanna’s children. Also special thanks to all of his friends that he met in his business adventures.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 2:00 P. M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Elder Alan Preston, presiding and Bishop
Denzell Kellam, Eulogist. Burial will be at the Hairston Family Cemetery, Cabell Street, Martinsville, Virginia.
