Otto Frank Smith Jr.

Otto Frank Smith, Jr., 75, of North Creek Road, Appomattox, died Wednesday, August 4, 2021, in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Linda Mann Smith.

Born in Baltimore, Md., on September 25, 1945, he was a son of the late Earline Willie Maxwell Smith and Otto Frank Smith, Sr. He was a member of Spout Spring Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, fish, and hunting. Otto was employed with Carson’s Dairy for 20 years. He also worked for Southern Air and Riverview.

Otto is survived by his son, Otto Frank Smith, III and wife, Melissa; five grandchildren, Justin, Blake, Trey, Peyton, and Rachael-Lei Smith all of Appomattox; two sisters, Naomi Martin and Earline Dilworth; a brother-in-law, William (Pam) Mann; and two nephews, Billy (Kelly) Mann and Jason Mann.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Smith, and Edsel Smith.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Spout Spring Baptist Church officiated by Dan Davis.
