Mildred Frances Faus

February 23, 1928 - August 8, 2021

Mildred Frances Faus, 93, of Salem, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 8, 2021.

She was born in Mt. Hope, WV, the daughter of the late Wilma A. Powers and had been an area resident for many years. Early in life, she enjoyed fishing and driving the family’s Studebaker truck. As a young adult, Mildred worked as a seamstress at the naval base in Bainbridge, MD and met a young sailor, Edwin Faus. They married and started a family having a daughter and a son, and later in life were blessed with another son. A homemaker for most of her life, she was talented in sewing and made many of the clothes for her family over the years. She enjoyed cooking and baking and made the most delicious homemade bread. She also enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. What she enjoyed most of all was her family, especially all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved spending time with and spoiling. She was always quick to lend a hand to those in need.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Faus, and a brother, Guy G. Ball.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy J. McCardell and her husband Dennis; two sons, Edwin F. Faus, Jr. and wife Sybil, and Clyde Joseph Faus and wife Clare; eight grandchildren, Teresa (Jeff), Heather (Andrew), Stacy, Jason (Sydney), James, Jennifer, Tabitha and Matthew; 12 great-grandchildren, Nicole (Tony), Cassie (Tyler), Will (Grace), Hannah, Kyle, Ella, Jackson, Olivia, Kenadie, Kaelie, Logan and Lilly, and one great-great grandson, Jaxx.
