Joel Warren "Joe" Wells

Joe Wells, 81, of Lafayette, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 18, 2021, from his home.
He was born on March 1, 1940, son of the late Melvin L. and Kate Wells. After a dedicated employment with New River Electrical, Joe retired with a total of 40 plus years of service. He, along with his son, David by his side, traveled numerous miles over the years as linemen, maintaining power to residents all over. When not at work, Joe enjoyed trips to the beach to enjoy a little recreation fishing from the pier. He also enjoyed doing a little gardening at home and attending Seneca Baptist Church, where his membership resided.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie C. Bott Wells.

Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his son, David J. Wells, of Lafayette; sister, Sue Wells, of Raeford, N.C.; and a special sister-in-law, Rosemary Wilson, of Salem.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be conducted and announced at a later date.
