Winnie Bowers

Winnie Darlene Meeks Bowers, 65, of Fieldale, Virginia passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at her home. She was born September 28, 1956, in Franklin County, Virginia to the late James Troy Meeks and Allie Maye Ferguson Meeks. She was a member of Hill Memorial Baptist Church. She loved to listen to bluegrass and country music and she especially liked NASCAR racing. She had been employed by Fieldcrest Mills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Carlene Wright, Linda Richards, and Brenda Richards; and grandchildren, Pamela Ann Martin and Tommy Lee Bowers, III.

She is survived by daughters, Sheila Martin (Lonnie), Jennifer Martin, Tammy Stoneman (H. B.) and Samantha Bowers; son, Tommy Lee Bowers, Jr.; brother, James (J. W.) Meeks; grandchildren, Travis Martin, Christopher Bowers, Josh Barnes, Kayla Martin, Kristen Bowers, Will Martin, Dylan Martin, Phillip Martin, Bentley Williamson and Emmett Williamson; and great-grandchildren, Avery Martin, and Dylan Martin, Jr.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 2:00 P. M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Danny Brim officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
