Nancy Napper
Nancy Carolyn Napper was a feisty soul with a contagious laugh that brought joy to all around her. Our beloved mother peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. She was born February 27, 1949 in Martinsville, VA to the late Robert and Virginia Hightower. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Freddie Napper, her sister, Wanda Hightower Cirrincione and her brother, Wayne Hightower.
She was educated in the Henry County Public School System and graduated from George Washington Carver High School. After graduating, she went on to attend Kittrell College. From there she moved with her husband, to Norfolk, VA where she remained until retirement from Virginia Wesleyan College.
Carolyn, as she was affectionately known, was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Kamara (Raymond) Fields, of Huntsville, AL; Bridgette (Darren) Stallworth, of Cleveland, OH; and cherished family friend/daughter, Leslie Kirkley, of Virginia Beach, VA; her brothers, Charlie (Kelly) Hightower, of Carmel, CA; Roy Hightower, of Los Angeles, CA; and Marcus Hightower, of Martinsville, VA. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her grandchildren, Jonathon Stallworth, Kayla Stallworth, Raquel Dickson, family friend/grandson, Montel Kirkley and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services was held Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Napper Family Cemetery in Axton, VA. Bishop David Fuller officiated.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Hines Funeral Services, Inc.
