Scott Barbour BIng
Scott Barbour Bing, 69, passed away on January 4, 2022, while wintering in Stoneville, North Carolina. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1952, to the late Jack and Edna Bing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother John Russell (“Rusty”) Bing.
He is survived by sons J.R. (Elizabeth) Bing, Alden (Valerie) Bing, and Jonathan S. Bing, six grandchildren and his former wife Mary Gross Bing. He is also survived by cousins DeeDee Bing Hennis, JoDee Bing Jesneck, and Jay Paul Bing of Bassett, Virginia.
Until recent years, he resided in Vero Beach, Florida. Since 2016, he has spent summers in Virginia and North Carolina where he frequently served Grayson Highlands State Park as a camp host.
Scott grew up in Satellite Beach, Florida and graduated from Florida State University in Tallahassee,. He and Mary raised their three sons in Vero Beach. He worked as a stockbroker most of his career, volunteered as a scout leader and in various church activities. He enthusiastically shared outdoor sports and recreation with his sons and a wide circle of friends.
A celebration of Scott’s life will be held in the future.
