Cecil Walker White

Cecil Walker White, 89, of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. He was predeceased by his parents, Homer Lee and Lena Dishon White; his sisters, Mary White and Mae Norris; brothers, Wendell White and Burman White. Cecil is survived by his beloved wife, Lorene of 65 years and caregiver for the last several years; his children, Rhonda Wright (Walter) and Diane Poff (Preston); his granddaughter, Crystal Ragland (Riley); his sisters-in-law Mardell Wimmer, Sharon Smythers and Rachel White; as well as several nieces and nephews; his fur buddy, Jumper; and many friends including special friend Annette.

Cecil was born November 22, 1932, in Snowville, Va. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Cecil loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. He had a great love of the outdoors, especially gardening as well as carpentry and small engine repair.

The family would like to give special thanks to Kindred Hospice; his nurse Jamie, Vickie, Donna, Jonette, Jennifer, Caroline and Dr. Madhoun; The Veterans Administration; Carolyn, and Dr. Taylor for their excellent care and thoughtful acts of kindness.
