Susan M Dawson

Susan M. Dawson, 68, of Bassett, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 26, 1954 in Rocky Mount, Virginia to the late John G. Martin and the late Mamie Love Allen Martin.  She was also preceded in  death by a sister, Peggy Farrar and nephew, Jonas Farrar.  Susan was of the Baptist faith.  She retired from Henry County Public Schools as a Librarian after 44 years in Education.
Susan is survived by her husband, Rick E. Dawson; son, Benjamin Dawson; daughter, Sarah Dawson; grandchild, Anna Leigh Armstrong; sister, Carol Merchant (Kurt); several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 pm on Friday, September 16, 2022 at the Chapel of Bassett Funeral Service where a Memorial Service will be conducted at 4:00 pm with Pastor Tom Auker officiating.  All other services are private.
In lieu of flowers donation’s may be made to the Blue Ridge Regional Library, 3969 Fairystone Park Highway, Bassett, VA 24055 or to donate a book to the Free Little Library.
