Norma Jean Hollifield Casey
Norma Jean “Jeanne” Casey, 74, of Salem, went home to the Lord and her loving husband Jerry, on Thursday, February 20, 2020.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mae Hollifield; brothers, J.C. and Jerry Hollifield; and two sisters, Mary Jo Willis and Mildred Orr.
Jeanne is survived by her sons, Jerry and Michael; grandchildren, Allen, Tyler, and Haley; sister, Sue Martin; brother, Danny and wife, Christine Hollifield; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends, Evelyn and Marvin Loyd.
Jeanne was a kind, gentle, godly woman. She loved the family that she and Jerry created. She loved Jerry very much and was devastated when he died. Jeanne loved her sons and was proud of the men they had become. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved them all immeasurably. Her grandchildren were a blessing and brought her great joy. Her sons were supportive during her extended illness. Jeanne and her sister, Sue, had an inseparable bond. Due to her health, they spent many hours on the phone enjoying wonderful memories, conversations, and laughter. Her niece, Quantella and nephew, Greg, said she always made them feel loved. Jeanne’s brother, Danny, brought Jeanne her favorites; Pepsi, and snacks, every week and always made her smile.
The family would like to thank her Sherie Minnix, friend, and Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion.
A celebration of Jeanne’s life will be conducted on Saturday, February 29, 2020, from 11 until 1 p.m., at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
