Thomas Owens

Thomas Owens, 80, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023, at his residence. He was born March 6, 1942, in Henry, Virginia to Thomas Pace and Lillie Brown. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by two brothers, Billy Lawrence Brown and Larry Brown and one grandson Ernest Grogan, Jr.

He was employed at Tultex where he retired in 2005. Thomas was always a happy man and did not meet any strangers. Thomas was loved by many, young and old.
Thomas joined St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church under the pastorate of Mother Beverly Little in Bassett, Virginia, in 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Owens, of the home; five daughters, Teresa McGill (Charlie), Michelle Harris (Willard), Tammy Hagwood (Devon), Tameka Owens, Nichole Wells Owens; one son, Jeffrey Owens; two sisters, Nanny Sue Russell and Barbara Jean Jones; one brother, Anthony Pace; seventeen grandkids; fifteen great-grand kids; and one special nephew, Billy “Petey” Fain.

The funeral will be Friday, March 3, 2023, at 11:30 AM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation will be one half hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
