Clarence Richard "Dick" Wilcox

Clarence Richard “Dick” Wilcox, III, 79, of Martinsville, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023, at his home. He was born June 10, 1943, in Martinsville, to the late Clarence Richard Wilcox, II, and Hazel Purcell Wilcox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Doug Wilcox. He was a life-long member of Calvary Christian Church. He loved his church, church family, singing in the choir, sports (especially the Seattle Sea Hawks), and spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dick is survived by his wife, Irene Bennett; sons, Clarence Richard Wilcox “Rich” (Lisa), and Tony Bennett; sister, Theresa Hodges (Glen); brother, Tim Wilcox; sister-in-law, Patty Wilcox; grandchildren, Hannah Wilcox, Jonah Wilcox, Amanda Bennett (Quincy), and Brittany Bennett; and great-grandchildren, Dylan and Mady Chappell, and Nathan, Braxton and Miracle Lawrence. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 1 P.M., at Calvary Christian Church with Rev. Mike Carrow officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Christian Church, P.O. Box 3844, Martinsville, VA 24115, or the family.
