Lillian Monica Maupai East

Lillian Monica Maupai East, 76, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Moses Cone Hospital. She was born October 5, 1946, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to the late Charles Maupai Sr. and Florence Grogan Maupai. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Maupai sister, Pam Tack; brothers, Charlie Maupai, Jr., and Mike Maupai. She had been employed as a CNA at Golden Living Center and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed NASCAR racing and her favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt and Tony Stewart. She also loved spending time with family. Lillian is survived by her husband, Ricky East; daughters, Kathy Westercamp, Colleen O’Donald, and Nanette O’Donald; son, Robert O’Donald; sister, Nanette Eberwine; as well as numerous grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsville, Virginia. The burial will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Park. The visitation will be thirty minutes prior to the service.
