Carolyn B. Darnall

Carolyn Bell Darnall, 81, of Salem passed away on April 16, 2023 at Lewis Gale Medical Center.

A native of Virginia she was the daughter of James Bell, Sr. and Goldie Bell. She was also preceded in death by her sister in law, Rhonda Bell. Carolyn loved her church family and was a member of Mason Cove Chapel, and before that Mason Cove Church of the Brethren. She loved her dog Coco and all the farm animals.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 33 years, Norman Darnall; her daughter, Terri Bailey; step-daughters, Cindy Smith (Mark) and Cameron Darnall; brother, James Bell, Jr.; three grandchildren, Trey Fleshman (Siobhan) of Boones Mill, VA, Joshua Fleshman (Katelynd) of Westerville, OH, and Meghan Marshall (TJ) of Roanoke, VA; four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Cameron Bell (Shannon) of Richmond, VA, Kristen Ruff (Billy) of Virginia Beach, VA, Kelly Darnall (Sandi) of Salem, VA, Scooter Darnall (Tina) of Salem, VA; and numerous grand nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. A graveside service will be conducted in Sherwood Memorial Park on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mason Cove Fire Department.
