Ernestine Brown Cassady

Mrs. Ernestine “Tena” Brown Cassady, age 84 of Bassett, VA passed away on April 24, 2023.Mrs. Cassady was born on February 5, 1939 in Henry County, a daughter of the late Ernest Brown and the late Lizzie Hodges Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister,Shelby Whitlow. She was a graduate of Bassett High School. She was retired from Bassett-Walker. She was a former member of Fort Trial Baptist Church. She loved playing the piano, singing, crocheting and traveling. She lived for her children and grandchildren.Mrs. Cassady is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bobby Penn Cassady, one daughter, ,Terri Hatchett (Glenn), two sons, Eddie Cassady (Peggy), Shaun Cassady (Mary Ellen), four grandsons, Dustin Hatchett, Jordan Hatchett (Heather), Blayne Cassady (Katie), Hunter Cassady and one great granddaughter, Olivia Cassady.A visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Fort Trial Baptist Church, 170 Oak Level Road, Stanleytown, VA with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 2:00 PM.Online condolences at www.collinsmckeestonebassett.comCollins Funeral Home is respectfully serving the Cassady family.
