Robert Allen Divers

Robert Allen Divers, III, 24, of Roanoke, Virginia, transitioned to his Heavenly home April 26, 2023. He was born October 22, 1998, in Martinsville, to Robert Allen Divers, Jr., and Melissa Ann Grady Divers. Robert recently retired from the U.S. Army. He graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences in June of 2022 and was a graduate of Martinsville High School, class of 2017. He liked sports, especially basketball, collected Jordan shoes, enjoyed cars, loved cats and spending time with his siblings and cousins. He was known for his kind heart and sweet spirit. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Alice Divers, and maternal grandfather, George William “Bill” Grady. In addition to his parents, Robert is survived by his sisters, Isabelle Divers, Olivia Divers, and Anna Divers; brother, Nick Cooper; nephew, Brantley Cooper; aunt, Billie Jean Grady; uncles, Shane Grady (Tammie), and Scott Divers (Lynn); paternal grandfather, Robert Divers; and maternal grandmother, Beverly Tate (Howard). The service will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 3339 Virginia Avenue, Collinsville, Virginia, with Pastor Larry Cheek officiating. Burial will follow the service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Collinsville.
