Eva "Sister" Dell Jarrett

Eva Dell "Sister" Ring Jarrett, age 101, of King, NC, passed away on May 10, 2023, at the home of her granddaughter in Lawsonville, NC.Eva was born on March 13, 1922, in Castlewood, Virginia to the late Robert Walter Ring and Anna Kate Litton Ring.

Eva began her career working for the Army Air Forces during World War II, where she sewed and packed parachutes. It was during this time that she met her husband.Throughout her life, Eva continued her work as a seamstress. Eva was an individual of strong faith in God, and her faith never wavered. She was known to be a helping hand to others, and she found joy in her hobby of gardening and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Jarrett; two stepsons, Horace Wayne Jarrett and Jesse Clifton Jarrett, Jr.; one grandson, Robert Patrick Foster; and four sisters and eight brothers.

Eva is survived by her daughter, Diane Fay Foster; one granddaughter, Amy Hooker and husband Chris; two step-grandchildren, Bonnie Dickerson and husband Jerry, Jeff Jarrett; three great-grandchildren, Corey Brewster, Kate-Lyn Brewster, Christopher Brewster; two step great-grandchildren, Bentley Hooker, Logan Hooker; two great-great-grandchildren, Salem Brewster, Cohen Brewster; four sisters, Frances Wills, Betty Kirby, Erma Ogburn, Deby Presnell; one daughter-in-law, Annie Mae Jarrett; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Eva will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 2:30 PM at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Reidsville, NC. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, VA.
