Maxine Virginia Foley Hall

Maxine Virginia Foley Hall, 96, of Bassett, VA, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, peacefully at her residence. She was born on February 14, 1927, to the late Richard Foley, Sr, and Josie Law Foley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brownie Williamson; two great grandchildren; five brothers, Royal Foley, Richard Foley, Jr., Arlie Foley, Coolidge Foley, Billy Foley; three sisters, Marie Pennington, Beatrice Moye, infant sister; and two sons-in-laws, Larry Foley, and Robin Robertson.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, where she loved her church family. She was also a life member of Bassett Volunteer Rescue Squad. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, quilting, reading, traveling, and most of all serving and spending time with her family.

Maxine is survived by five daughters, Josie Foley, Rosemary Carmichael (Jerry Sr.), Lorene Robertson, Rebecca Boyd (Eddie), Patricia Lowery (Bernie); two sisters, Betty Hall, Joann Thompson; a brother, Stephen Foley; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Bassett Funeral Service chapel with Dr. David Towler and Dr Brandon Dupont officiating. Burial will be at Henry Memorial Park immediately following the service. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Bassett Funeral Service chapel from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
