Ralph Douglas Mason

Ralph Douglas Mason, 61, of Axton, VA passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Sovah Health-Martinsville. He was born on August 22, 1961, to the late Ralph Mason, Sr., and Ellen Parsons Mason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by her Maternal grandparents, Otis Clifton Parsons and Estelle Own Parsons; paternal grandparents, Willie Mason and Maude Jarret Mason.

Doug loved his guns and was a member of the NRA and enjoyed watching the Miami Dolphins. He worked in Fire and EMS for over 30 years as an EMT and Firefighter. He was a lifetime member of Brosville Fire Department.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his fiancé, Rosanna Handy; three brothers, Jay Mason, Ralph Mason, Gerry Taylor; stepmother, Geraldine Mason; seven nieces, Adyson Handy, Morgan Handy, Gabriella Handy, Chloe Hancock, Natalie Hancock, Aubree Handy, Jamie Mason; one nephew, Jacob Mason; his fur child, Sheba and a host of special aunts and uncles, other family and friends.

He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel.
