Margaret Sparger Honbarrier

Mrs. Margaret Sparger Honbarrier, age 96, died June 28, 2023, at Brookridge Retirement Community in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She was born in Surry County, August 12, 1926, the daughter of the late DeWitt and Lura Wagoner Sparger. Mrs. Honbarrier graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dobson, NC. Surviving are her cousins, Iylyn Martin, Goldie Sparger, Sue Compton, and Dr. Jim Childress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Honbarrier. A graveside service will be held Sunday, July 2, 2023, 2:00 PM, at Oakdale Cemetery with Dr. Jim Childress officiating. No formal visitation will be held at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy is serving the Honbarrier family.
