Marie Scearce Bean

Marie Scearce Bean, age 79, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023 at Greendale Forest Health & Rehab, Snow Hill, NC. Mrs. Bean was born May 19, 1944 in Danville, VA to the late Ella Tate Scearce and the late John Henry Scearce. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Billy William Bean. Mrs. Bean was a homemaker all her life, providing a home for her children and later for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to visit, all of whom she loved dearly.

After being saved in the 1970’s, Mrs. Bean was a longtime and faithful member of Holland Road Faith Holiness Church, where she also served as Secretary. She loved her family dearly, and also loved Elvis and John Wayne.

She is survived by her children, Billy W. Bean and wife Nellie, Marion Neal Bean and wife Donna, and Michael A. Bean and fiancé Lisa; grandchildren, Christie L. Bean, Billy W. Bean, Jr. and wife Stephanie, Matthew Wyatt Bean, William Cody Bean, and Nicholas A. Bean. In addition, she is survived by great-grandchildren, Landon Bean, Raven Bean, Elena Bean, Alex W. Bean, Ethan Boone, Jayden Boone, and Dallas Boone.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Bean was predeceased by her daughter, Penny Marie Bean, sisters, Clara S. Rigney and Mary Annie Rigney, and brothers, William Henry Scearce, Emerson Scearce, and Curtis Scearce.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, 600 Church Ave., Danville, officiated by Pastors Daniel and Seth Lackey and Austin Merricks. Interment will follow the funeral service at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville.

The family will receive friends at the residence of her son, Billy W. Bean and wife Nellie.
