Paul Craig Hagan

March 13, 1966 - July 10, 2023

PAUL CRAIG HAGAN, “Dozer” 57, of Bastian, VA, passed away Monday,  July 10, 2023, at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, VA.

Paul was born March 13, 1966, in Bluefield, WV to Betty Burress Hagan and William C. Hagan. Paul spent his entire life in the home he loved in Bastian.

He is predeceased by both parents and his grandparents.

He is survived by his brothers and their wives Ray and Kim Hagan of Hanover, MD, Lee and Kim Hagan of Bland, VA, niece Sheila Hagan of Hanover, MD, nephews, Johnathan Hagan of Bland, VA, Jared and Anna Frechette-Hagan of New York City, and their children his great nephew Miles Henry Frechette-Hagan and great niece Charlotte McGuire Frechette-Hagan; cousin/big brother Keith Gore and wife Pam Gore, his aunt & uncle, Ruby & Mack Estep of Bluefield, WV, and multiple cousins and close friends.

Paul was an amazing guy, honest, and hardworking, literally to the very end. If you had any doubt about how amazing he was, all you had to do was ask him.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Bland County Sheriff ‘s Department and the Bland County Rescue Squad for their help in aiding Paul. We would also like to thank Wythe County Community Hospital and their Emergency Room for the outstanding care he received. A very special thank you to the staff of Lewis Gale Hospital and the outstanding Surgical ICU team, they made every effort to save Paul and showed great compassion in an exceedingly difficult time for the family.

A Celebration of Paul’s life for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023  at A. Vest and Sons Funeral Home Chapel  at 3:00 P.M. Johnathan Hagan will be sharing thoughts on his uncle; anyone else who would like to do so as well is thoroughly encouraged to participate. Dress code is “Dozer” casual.
