Charles Leonard Thompson

Charles Leonard Thompson, Sr., 85, of Danville, VA passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Mr. Thompson was born November 19, 1937, in Danville, to the late Odell Thompson and the late Thelma Eunice Thompson.

Charles was a member of the United Baptist Church in Danville. He retired after 37 years with the City of Danville Electrical Division.

He is survived by his son, Charles Leonard Thompson, Jr; grandchildren, Staci Ashworth, Scott Trent, and Megan Thomspon Floersch; great-grandchildren, Caulier Barker, Waylon Barker, Adah Floersch, and Elliot Floersch; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Thompson.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Ruby Compton Thompson; daughter, Nancy Trent; son, Ricky “Skip” Thompson; and brother, Bill Thompson.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 25, 2023, at Highland Burial Park with Pastor Adam Wood officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., at Norris Funeral Services, 3995 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA 24540.
