Walter Everett Tawney, 50, of Danville, Virginia, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023. He was born August 29, 1973, in Danville, Virginia, to Mary L. Wilson McMillan and the late Walter Hoge Tawney. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Soloman Hyler; sister, Amanda Tawney; and brother William Lee Tawney.Walter attended Church of the Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed working on cars, camping in tents, and being outside. He loved nature, making jokes, and having a good laugh.He is survived by his wife, Angela Hyler; mother, Mary L. Wilson McMillan; daughter, April Hyler; sons, Charles Robert Towler, and Aaron Hyler; sisters, Joann Tawney and Jessica Tawney; and grandchildren, Layla Fulk and James Curry.The funeral will be Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 4:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church, 18529 Franklin Turnpike, Callands, Virginia.Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
