Kenneth "Ken" Lee Wright

Ken L. Wright, 86 of Salem died Sunday, October 15, 2023. He was born Wednesday, August 11, 1937, in Lynchburg, VA to the late Ernest Edward Wright and Nellie O’Brien Wright.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Samples, and brother-in-law Edward Samples.

Ken was a quiet person, but he enjoyed playing the guitar with his trio at Hotel Roanoke on weekends and with William Penn at the Henry Street Review. He was highly skilled in all things electronic and had a talent for restoring antique radios. With his expertise, he could make these radios look and sound as if they were brand new. Ken was a fan of all things Mexican and loved traveling to historical places from Machu Picchu to Pompeii.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Suzanne Ruhlman Wright, sister-in-law, Sara Ruhlman and husband, David Thompson; brother-in-law, Tyler Ruhlman; nieces, Rhea, Monica, and Cynthia; nephew Ambrose.

A reception celebrating his life will be held at 2840 Gleneagles Road, Salem, VA on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
