Clarence Norris Harville

Clarence Norris Harville, 84, passed away on November 15, 2023. He was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on January 21, 1939 to the late Edna Johnson Harville and the late Creed Thomas Harville. He was predeceased by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Shirley Lee Davis Harville.

Clarence was of the Christian Faith, and worked for many years in the vending business as a driver for various companies, such as Coca Cola, Pepsi, and Piedmont Vending.

Clarence is survived by two daughters; Susan Gillespie (David) of Ringgold, VA and Karen Childress (David) of Danville, VA; three sisters; Marie Day, Kitty Wellman (Earnest), and Virgie George; five grandchildren; Chris Childress (Wendy), Kristin Doss (Thomas), Kelly Owen (Justin), Adam Gillespie (his fiancé Marie), and Addison Harville (Jessica); and six great grandchildren; Natalie Owen, William Owen, Cate Owen, Ella Doss, Avery Doss, and Abby Childress. He was also survived by his loving and special caregiver, Mrs. Candy Tate.

In addition to his parents and spouse, Clarence was also predeceased by a son; Clarence Steven Harville; two sisters; Deliah Batson and Nancy Newcomb; and two brothers; Tommy and Russell Harville.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 2:00pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA with pastor Carl Burger officiating.. The family will receive friends at other times at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Susan Gillespie.
