Corby Ray Dillard

Corby Ray Dillard, 47, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023. He was born January 3, 1976, in Henry County, to the late James Clay Dillard and Anita Tarpley Dillard.

Corby was a 1995 graduate of Martinsville High School. He was an avid drag racing aficionado and enjoyed spending time at the Big Dog Shootout drag racing competition in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was most recently employed by Wallace Automotive. He was an amazing mechanic who had a love for dogs and enjoyed four-wheeling with his son. His earlier years were spent enjoying fishing with his children and uncle, Odell Dillard. Outside of his love for dogs he also enjoyed his favorite cereal, Fruity Pebbles, and his favorite ice cream flavor which was butter pecan.

He is survived by his two daughters, Ladeja Dillard Baldwin (Carl) and Karsyn Kierra Dorey; son, Demarias Dillard; and honorary brothers, Henry Penn, Rod Harris, Rome Williams, Dave Shaw, and Stan “Peanut” Underwood.

The funeral will be Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 11:30 AM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service.
