Alan Clayton Wilmer

January 26, 1958 - December 9, 2023

Alan Clayton Wilmer, 65, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Born in Roanoke on January 26, 1958, he is preceded in death by his parents, Hunter and Louise “Lou” Eades Wilmer.

Alan worked hard and held several jobs in his life before his retirement, lastly serving as a machinist for ITT. He liked his music loud, especially if the Allman Brothers came on the stereo. Alan was a big sports fan and could easily get caught up in any game being broadcast; however, he really enjoyed pulling for the University of Virginia Cavaliers.

Those left to cherish his memory are sisters, Nancy (Ivan) Ritter and Betty McBride, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
