Cora Pauline O'Brien

Ms. Pauline “Polly” Robertson O’Brien, age 91, daughter of the late C. W. (Lum) and Lula Branscome Robertson, Mt. Airy, NC, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Our Lady of the Valley Retirement Community in Roanoke, VA. After working many years as a secretary, she became a private duty caregiver and enjoyed helping others. Throughout the years Polly enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, and especially cooking. I am so thankful to have had this time with my Auntie. Polly was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters, Lee Robertson ( Raymond) Barwick and Mary Ann Robertson Cummings, and her brother Joseph Wayne Robertson. She is survived by her nieces; Teresa Ann Barwick (Dwight) Williams, great nephews, Matt (Melody) Williams and Robert Williams and great nieces, Rachel Williams and Megan Williams (Adam) Muhsin: Sandra Lee (John) Dorociak, great nieces and nephews Susan, Deanna, and Randall.She is also survived by eight great grand nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her care giver Missy. “Miss Polly” loved you and we all loved “Miss Polly”! The services for Ms. O’Brien will be private. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
