Kitty Joan Raines

Kitty J. Raines, 84, Born to Charley and Pearl Marshall on April 8, 1939, in Whitesville West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2023. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold, and numerous brothers and sisters.

Kitty had a deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She used her talent and love for cooking to open and run a small catering business for several years. She had a spunky personality and enjoyed showing off her moves with a good dance every now and then. One of her favorite things to do in her free time, though, was to go to McDonalds with her friends to spend time and fellowship with each other.

Those still left here on earth to cherish her memory include her sons, Gene Jarrell (Melanie) and Tim Jarrell (Connie); daughter, Mary May Herdman (Waldon); and numerous brothers, sisters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Skyline Nursing Home in Floyd for their exceptional and delicate care for their loved one.

Celebration of Life Service Saturday, December 30, 2023, at noon at the Casto Family Funeral Home 802 Washington Street Ravenswood, WV 26164. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
