James Wade Hunter

Mr. James Wade Hunter sr., age 87, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at his home. He was born on March 9, 1936 in Surry County to the late Elmer and Lorraine Love Hunter. Left to cherish his memories are his children, William Hunter (Elke), James Hunter Jr.; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; sister, Particia Rich; brother and sister-in-law, Lacy Hunter (Eva); sister-in-law, Dianne Hunter; special friends, Joyce Needham, and Tammy Montgomery. In addition to his parents Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by a daughter, Fonda Gail Hunter; brother, Buford Hunter. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with service conducted by Rev. Walter Hunter. Burial will follow in the Peoples Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the time for the service at the funeral home.
